




Carers Self Assessment Pilot Project in Bristol
Exciting news for carers living in Bristol!
We have recently begun working in partnership with Bristol Adult Community Care on a pilot project on carers self assessment. This provides carers with the opportunity to assess their own needs and ensure they have an individual assessment of their needs focused on them.
If you provide ‘substantial and regular’ care for an adult you have a legal right
to a carers assessment. This can happen even if the person you care for refuses

In conjunction with carers we have designed a preparation guide which is a useful tool for helping carers think about their role and their needs prior to assessment.
